We (everybody i knew who hit up corner store during junior high - high school days) was calling bagels & kaiser rolls buttered rolls now what papi would ask is if u wanted it on bagel or actual roll but they knew offtop what it was (bacon egg & cheese sandwiches wasnt poppin during the 90s from my recognition) chop cheese as well wasnt it was either a buttered roll or heros

Where exactly are yah dudes upbringings (i believe areas play a part )
I lived in Jamaica and Fresh Meadows for a while...my wife is from Briarwood. Just asked her and she said she's never heard anyone call a bagel a butter roll

Roll, bagel, hero are the only types of bread at the bodega and the sliced bread the cat sleeps on.
I can only add that if you go in to a Jewish ran bagel shop ir Italian bakery is when they'll get real specific with the names of breads and rolls and bagels.

Yeah I’ve never heard anyone uptown called a bagel a butter roll. But I’m not sure how they get down at bodegas in Queens.

Nice. As I mentioned on here before, I swear T-Bell sauces tastes better out of the packets than out of a bottle, but the bottled stuff is pretty close.

(Or, more likely, that’s just in my head and there’s no real difference)

I drove to two Popeye's yesterday and neither had the chicken sandwich. Pretty disappointing.

Does anyone have any must have food recs for Tokyo and Osaka?

I've been looking things up and have found a lot on my own but just wondering if anyone knows of any or has had any incredible eating experiences in Japan that I should be sure not to miss out on.
