It's good if you like rewatching the marvel movies, star wars, and disney classics. Seems like most in the official thread loved it for the nostalgia in the beginning but don't watch it now. The Mandalorian was cool. Def hyped for the marvel shows airing in late summer.

My lady & I are using her co-workers log-in. If we didn't have access to that, we probably wouldn't pay for it on our own.

Netflix > Disney+ for your moneys worth.

YouTube TV announced they are adding Viacom channels in the Summer (MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, etc.). As soon as this is offered, I am cancelling my Comcast cable ASAP. The only network its missing at this point is A&E. $50 a month, this is a no-brainer.

Helped my parents cut the cord. They were paying way too much for Frontier Internet, phone, and TV based on services being grandfathered in from years ago. Monthly bill for all 3 services was about $210 and they barely even watch TV outside of news channels and some sports. Most people don't use a home phone anymore but my parents didn't want to completely give it up since they've had that number for decades. Canceled Frontier and went with:

  • Internet: Spectrum - $44 for 300mbps
  • TV: Hulu Live TV - $55
  • Home Phone: Magic Jack - $40/year (~$3.33/month)
Hardware: basic TPLink router ($50), Roku Express to run Hulu Live ($20), Magic Jack device ($30)

So they're now saving well over $100 a month and with all of the services working just as good as pre-cord cutting.

Welp just cut Sling after 4+ years of service. It was good while it lasted but with my recent layoff I have to save every penny.
I'll just be streaming shows and movies for entertainment now. Only thing thats gonna hurt is live sports when they eventually come back on the air but for now I'm ok.

DM is open for dem live sports sites :nthat::nthat::nthat::nthat:

That 300mbps that spectrum claims is total joke. I'm on the same plan and only get close to 100 mbps. It is what it is and serves me for what I need but it's straight up false advertising.
If you call customer service and complain about speeds they'll give you a couple of "boost shots" to open up slightly higher speeds to you.

My coworker had spectrum and a fios rep came to his door and told him run speedtest. Sure enough he wasn’t getting the speed he’s paying for. Got fios 500mb download and upload for $40 a month.

I need to help me parents cut their land-line too. ATT charges way too much in this day and age of cell phones. That's their contact number for doctors and stuff so they kept it. Probably go with Ooma so they can keep their number.

I only have a landline because verizon fios always packages it with that triple play crap. Didn’t even know they had double play package option that excludes phone because they never advertise it. Anyway, it’s my dad’s account that I pay for and the contract finally ends in june. Probably can’t convince him to just go with internet tv like youtube tv, he’s been saying he wants to switch to optimum. At least they have no contracts I think. Don’t know if they’re even doing installations during this pandemic.

Show him the taxes and surcharges for just having the phone, you will be surprised. I have FiOS double play with magic Jack much cheaper overall.

Damn. A $15 increase just like that, huh? I could see $5, but $15?? At a time like this? Crazy.

May have to explore other options.

So let me subscribe for $50 without that new content.

Hell, go back to $35 package content.

I only subbed for live sports.
