Driving from NorCal to MoVal in May. Any suggested spots on the way to that butthole of California? lol
Haha, good ol MoVal. They have a Portillo's there at least! Get the combo italian beef/italian sausage and if you're feeling dangerous, get the chocolate cake shake too.

On the way? Hit up one of the Portos around LA for the guava cheese pastries and potato balls. Great, now I'm hungry and fiending.

Idk if people still post in here, but do you guys know of any dim sum spots in South OC that you can order to go?

In-laws want to buy a bunch of dim sum and take it home for NYE.

Let's see if we can get this thread regularly updated

Tried Nightshade LA:
overall fantastic! loved the food and atmosphere but reservations are a bit tricky and the price matches high end and smaller tapa like settings

majordomo:
not super impressed but the food was good. will come back for the large portion dish

The eggslut and Marugame Udon locations at the Beverly Center are your best bets for either of those two without the large crowds that populate Grand Central and Sawtelle

Capitol Seafood Beverly hills is SGV style Chinese in LA just at slightly elevated prices

Killer Noodle on Sawtelle is totally worth it, opened about a year and a half ago. Definitely for lovers of spicy, but you can get your ramen with no spice, as well. They have great fried chicken, too.
