Yup, just traded in the BRZ for it prior to making the move to Portland. Should enable some fun adventures out here

Sweet ride and congrats on the move. If I could go back a year and do it all over I'd definitely go with the 4runner.

I kinda had a thought a while back about living somewhere else for a change of scenery next year and on my trip to Oregon last year it seemed like the place to do it. Washington is cool too but something about Oregon just felt right.

For the time being I'm just going to focus to continue saving up and see where I'm at by the end of the year. Hope you kill it out there and if I plan a trip out there soon I'll let you know.

Yeah think that's a 1DX.

Think it's the only one that has that LCD screen grip + a "Canon/EOS" strap.

dope shot fong.

it's funny how little times i've been to SF
I actually never been that far on the Marin Headlands cause I always had a wide angle lens. Made no point going that far. Now that I have a long lens, it's really interesting trying to frame long exposure shots. Honestly it's way harder just from the camera shake of the lens. I didn't really go past 3 second on my shots. I even bracketed some shots to get the grass rather than recovering it in a RAW file. I just wish I had some sort of dynamic sky but you have to wake up early to face that way rather than vice versa. I'll do it one day.

I'm definitely gonna start planning out a trip to SF when I head back to SJ in the summer.

What focal length are you at for that shot?

I was at 200mm. Ally challenging to setup long lens long exposures. Thankfully there was a lot of mountiain in this area.

Thanks man! I feel ya on Washington. I stayed with some fam in North Bend for a couple months while I decided between Seattle and Portland. Portland's way more my speed. Hit me up if you're ever out here, happy to show ya around.

Went out to the snow yesterday

Drone shots are mostly with a Mavic now. The size is a total game changer, instead of lugging the pelican case around that I had for my Phantom, the Mavic just fits right in the normal camera bag.

^ Could you post a full sized photo taken from the camera? I'm curious how good the image quality is on the camera.

To be honest, image quality is kind of garbage, the IQ falls apart pretty quickly when you push em too far or crop in too much.  It's more about being able to get unique angles than top notch IQ. Here's a few RAW files if anyone wants to download/play with em

I just checked the files and that is what I sport of expected with the IQ. Sharpness is really lacking. Drones at this point are more viable for video use unless you have those drones that fly an actual DSLR in the sky.

It seems DJI does make a DSLR drone that can carry a 5D Mark 3 for $1500.

Yea, it's basically cell phone quality. Still serves a purpose though. Figure any high quality lens is going to be in the ~1k+ range, and that really only gives you a different field of view. For that same amount you can get aerial shots from 500+ feet up. I get nervous enough just flying the drone though, couldn't imagine flying a $1500 drone with a $3k camera and $1k lens on it
